Groundhog Day Festival Late Night Cabaret

The Groundhog Cabaret takes place at 11pm Saturday night in a working, non-proscenium theatre that usually has a play set on stage. We fit the The Deluxe Vaudeville Orchestra (6 or 7 musicians) into a corner, and the cabaret performers work downstage. We minimize movement of set pieces, and usually don't know what it will be until we get there.

You don't need to sign up much in advance, but to assure a performance slot and to bring props if you're gonna get on the bill, let Bruce Plott (770) 413-4229 know in advance your intent to perform.

We try to keep the show at one hour running time, with little to NO tech. We will NOT set lights, nor do we favor "canned" music as we provide a live band. We understand not everyone can work with live music, so if you have a tape or CD, we'll probably have a boom box available. We ask that acts be short and brief (no longer than 10 minutes), and although the hour is late we do have children and sensitive public at the performances. Bruce tries to line up a variety of acts (we've all seen juggling all day long, but we do have a variety of juggling acts in the cabaret). There is no pay, only glory---and usually a lot of good natured (???) heckling.

Thanks for your interest.
